Police begin manhunt again after teenager charged with Thetford attempted murder absconds
A teenager who was charged with attempted murder after a stabbing in Thetford and a six week manhunt has absconded from authority care.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was initially arrested by police in Kent with Elvis Price, 18, of Amulet Close in the town, on April 24.
This was in connection with the multiple stabbing of a man in his 30s, in Bury Road in the town, on March 10.
The pair appeared at Norwich Magistrates' Court on April 25, with the younger of the two remanded into care until his next court appearance, on May 23, at Norwich Crown Court.
But Norfolk Police were notified by the care facility on Saturday that he had absconded.
A police spokesperson said: “We can confirm that a 17-year-old boy, who was arrested by police in Kent on April 23 and subsequently charged with attempted murder, has absconded from local authority care – inquiries are currently ongoing to locate him.”
