Thetford firefighters presented with portraits from artist Chris Goddard to say thank you
Firefighters in Thetford have been recognised for their bravery and hard work protecting the community by Breckland Council.
Town artist Chris Goddard, presented a series of portraits to members of the station in Norwich Road, to say thank you on behalf of the community for tirelessly supporting it through the pandemic.
The artist has produced a series of portraits thanking front line services for their support through an incredibly challenging period in history.
At the presentation, she said: "All of our front line services have been truly amazing, and over the last 18 months made tremendous personal sacrifices and shown incredibly bravery.
"This is my small contribution to thank our brave firefighters, who never think twice about their own safety before entering a burning building to save countless lives. Meeting the crews today was a truly humbling experience.”
Chairman of Breckland Council and a councillor of the town, Roy Brame, also met the frefighters and thanked the crews for their hard work.
He said: "It is a privilege to be able to personally thank Thetford Fire station for their commitment and dedication to the service and to the communities they serve.”
Thetford Temporary Station Manager Leigh Prior thanked Chris for the portraits and said it was great for his staff to be recognised for their work in the local communities.
