Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care, on Market Hill, Brandon, welcomes back customers to store double the size

A town’s opticians that doubled in size following a revamp celebrated its opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care, on Market Hill, Brandon, near Thetford, welcomed back its customers after expanding to the adjacent store.

Cutting the ribbon was a loyal customer Sadie Reeve, who has been registered with the Brandon branch for nearly 30 years.

“I feel very privileged to have been chosen to officially open the new branch,” said Sadie, who lives locally with her husband John. “It was a lovely occasion and I enjoyed every minute.

“I’ve been going to Scrivens for a very long time for my eye care. I know the team personally and have always received excellent customer service.

“It’s wonderful that Scrivens invested in a bigger Brandon branch. The store looks fabulous and the new range of frames is outstanding.”

The new store features the latest digital eye examination equipment, including an OCT (optical coherence tomography) scanner and two additional testing rooms bringing the total to three.

Customers can also choose from an updated range of frames.

Joining in the celebrations were two West Suffolk Council members – Cllr Phil Wittam, vice-chair, and Cllr Victor Lukaniuk, deputy leader.

Cllr Phil, who also represents Brandon East, said: “I have been a customer of Scrivens for many years and have always experienced exemplary service.

“The new store not only looks great but also features a whole array in the latest eye care technology that will benefit local residents for many years to come.”

Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care is a family run business, which was established in 1938.

It has 169 stores across England and Wales, with 1,000 employees.
