Roadworks in Weeting with Broomhill, near Brandon, to help improve road safety and driver awareness

Roadworks to improve safety and driver awareness in Weeting with Broomhill, near Brandon, will take place next week.

Norfolk County Council will be working in Brandon Road and Lynn Road from Tuesday to Friday to install new signs and lining.

The works, which coincide with a new traffic regulation order to extend the existing 30mph zone by 300 metres north-west and reduce the 40mph zone by the same distance, are part of a £35,000 local safety scheme to improve driver awareness.

The scheme also includes a new village gateway sign and upgrades to existing signage, along with new and refreshed lining.

During the signage works there will be two-way traffic lights in Brandon Road and Lynn Road, with access to homes maintained.

The road will be closed overnight, from 7pm-6am, during the lining works. A nine-and-a-half mile diversion will be in place.

Upgrades to school safety signs will be undertaken at a later date, with two-way traffic lights installed during those works.
