Trapped woman freed and taken to hospital in Bury St Edmunds after three-vehicle crash on A11 between Elveden and Thetford
A trapped woman was freed by firefighters and taken to hospital following a three-vehicle crash on a major route.
Emergency services were called to reports of the collision on the A11 southbound, between Thetford and Elveden, at about 7.50pm yesterday.
Fire crews found one person trapped and three people walking wounded at the scene.
Firefighters used cutting equipment to remove the rear door and B-post of the vehicle before rescuing the casualty and handing them to paramedics.
A woman was transported to West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds for further assessment and treatment.
Two ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle and a response car from the East Anglian Air Ambulance were sent to the scene
A Suffolk Police spokesperson said one vehicle was found on its roof on a verge and two people suffered injuries although they are not believed to be serious.
One engine from Brandon attended and was supported by two engines from Norfolk.
Fire crews left the scene at 8.59pm.
