A hair expert is blazing a trail in the beauty industry by specialising in the colour of copper.
Stylist Rachael Lomax is now specialising in the colour tone at her Thetford salon and has also launched a series of online courses for professionals.
Copper has become one of the most sought after hair colours in recent years with a wide range of tones and shades, with a new survey revealing who Britons think is the most attractive redhead.
Rachael will be launching a series of face-to-face-classes for stylists in the new year and has caught the attention of industry magazines and beauty brands.
“I have worked as a specialist in hair colour for many years and, with copper, I really found my niche,” said Rachael, 41.
“Copper can range from bright vibrant orange to a soft subtle blonde, with many shades in between.
“As far as I am aware, there isn’t anyone else in the country who specialises in this and stylists from across the UK have been attending my online masterclasses.”
Rachael formerly ran the Serenity salon in Admiral’s Way, Thetford. She has now rebranded as the Copper Queen.
“I still have regular clients myself and though 80 per cent of these already have red hair, I also see brunettes and blondes who are interested in introducing a copper tone, perhaps through balayage” she said.
“I am naturally auburn but I have been copper for the past couple of years and I absolutely love it.”
Rachael has been nominated in this year’s hair industry Salon Awards 2022, for Best Colourist, Best Colour Salon, Best Customer Experience and Best Salon in East Anglia.
Meanwhile, Hollywood starlet Isla Fisher has been named the most attractive red-headm in a new survey.
One in four (24 per cent) highlighted the Australian actress and author as their top redhead, closely followed by film star Emma Stone (23 percent) and British TV presenter, Stacey Dooley (22 percent).
Prince Harry (19 percent) was crowned the sexiest male but only managed to secure fourth place on the list of 30.
According to research of 2,000 Brits by creative agency, GingerComms, Brits look to the US movie industry for alluring female gingers with American actresses dominating their top picks, including Emma Stone, Lindsay Lohan, Amy Adams, Julianne Moore and Jessica Chastain.
While for men, home-grown talent comes out on top in the form of Ewan McGregor (14 percent), Ed Sheeran (13 percent) and Tom Hiddleston (10 percent).
One in five (20 percent) find ginger people very attractive, with two -thirds (63 percent) admitting that it depends upon the person.
A fifth (18 percent) confess that they never find red-haired people attractive - a possible factor in the reduction of redheads in the country.
Just four percent of those polled described their hair colour as ginger. Brown (59 percent) is the predominant colour in the country, followed by black (20 percent) and blonde (18 percent).
More than three quarters (84 percent) admitted that they would never dye their hair ginger.
Despite hair colour, one in six (16 percent) admit to having a great love life, feeling confident when meeting new people (12 percent) and loving their fun-filled life (10 percent). One in ten say they feel ambitious (12 percent) and attractive (eight percent), with just nine percent worrying that they come across too serious.
Harriet Scott from GingerComms, who commissioned the study said, “We were delighted that so many Brits made the top 30 list, including Stacey Dooley at number three.”
