Rendlesham Forest and High Lodge in Thetford Forest make LoveHemp list of best locations for 'forest bathing'
Two Suffolk woodlands have made the top 10 list of best locations for 'forest bathing' in the country.
Rendlesham Forest and High Lodge, in Thetford Forest, have made the LoveHemp list.
'Forest bathing', also known as shinrin-yoku, is a Japanese mindfulness practice which involves taking in the forest atmosphere for relaxation.
The National Trust says the benefits of forest bathing include reduced blood pressure, lower cortisol (stress hormone) levels and improved concentration and memory.
It also offers a boost in the immune system due to the chemicals released by trees called phytoncides.
LoveHemp, which sells CBD products, analysed wildflower and songbird data from 20 forests in England listed by Forestry England as having easy walking trails, and came up with the 10 best places to experience forest bathing this spring.
Rendlesham Forest came fourth in the list, while High Lodge in Thetford Forest came ninth.
