Bury St Edmunds venue The Hunter Club set to host final of rescheduled BurySOUND 2020

More than a year after the competition began to find the most promising artist in West Suffolk, a date for the final of BurySOUND 2020 has been announced.

Co-organiser Seymour Quigley, who is behind events promoters Washing Machine, has said the final will take place on Friday, October 1.

The event will now be held at the Hunter Club in Bury St Edmunds, having originally been billed for last March at The Apex.

Before lockdown, winners of the five first round heats had been decided in gigs held over successive weeks.

The Daze, Leon O'Leary, Fleas, and Far From Refuge, were the first four acts to qualify - and they were joined by final qualifier Pink Lemonade.

SOUND 2019 winner Gabby Rivers was also set to play in the final.

Ticket details will be announced nearer the time.
