Sweet to play Suffolk gig and bring glam rock glory days to stage in Bury St Edmunds

They are truly glam rock royalty – and fans of Sweet can rejoice as they are hitting Suffolk in December.

The band’s Full Circle tour takes in The Apex in Bury St Edmunds on December 14.

Sweet have taken the rock world by storm for six decades, and guitarist/vocalist Andy Scott, the sole surviving original member at the heart of the band and the golden thread linking Sweet’s proud past to the present, is still fiercely protective of that legacy today.

Andy said: “This could be our last tour, but that doesn’t mean to say we’re not going to do any more gigs, just that we might not be doing 15-20 dates strung together. Then again, we might!”

Sweet scored 15 momentous top-40 hits in the Seventies, eight going top-five – including classic 1973 UK No.1 Blockbuster.

Sweet’s Full Circle Tour of 13 dates opens in Wrexham and ends in Frome, Wiltshire – taking in Suffolk halfway through.

From the breakthrough hit Co-Co in 1970 to 1978’s Love is like Oxygen, Sweet will conjure up memories for many. And who could forget the instant nostalgia of unforgettable classics such as The Ballroom Blitz, Fox on the Run, Hellraiser, Little Willy, Teenage Rampage, Action and Wig-Wam Bam.
