Murder, Margaret and Me at Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds is a moving and very human tale
This touching and very human tale shines a theatrical spotlight on author Agatha Christie and actress Margaret Rutherford.
The pair make for an entertaining odd couple as they are forced together when Rutherford (Sarah Parks) is cast as Christie's cherished sleuth Miss Marple much to the author's displeasure.
Intrigued by Rutherford's past, Christie (Lin Blakley) turns detective herself and an unlikely friendship blossoms.
Meanwhile, the performer begins to ask questions about a mysterious episode in Christie's life.
All the while, they are aided in their quest for answers by an imaginary Miss Marple (Gilly Tompkins).
Murder, Margaret and Me is an entertaining and moving look at two successful women who although very different are bound by painful secrets and have both had to navigate the pitfalls of stardom.
It runs at Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds until Wednesday, November 13.
