42-year-old woman arrested in the Woodbridge area by the England Illegal Money Lending Team on suspicion of being a loan shark released under investigation




A 42-year-old woman has been released under investigation after she was arrested yesterday on suspicion of being a loan shark.

The England Illegal Money Lending Team (ILMT) executed an early morning raid at an address in Woodbridge, with the woman taken into custody to be questioned.

It stemmed from a joint investigation with Suffolk Trading Standards.

ILMT officers were assisted by Suffolk Police in the execution of the warrant.

The woman has been released under investigation pending further inquiries.

Since the launch of the IMLT 20 years ago, it has supported more than 31,000 people and written off over £91.2 million worth of illegal debt.
