A12 near Wickham Market and Framlingham reopens after single-vehicle crash that left two people needing medical attention

The A12 was closed both ways near a Suffolk town this afternoon following a single-vehicle crash which saw two people left needing medical attention.

Police said they were called to reports of the collision on the northbound carriageway of the A12 near Wickham Market at about 4pm when a car collided with the central reservation.

A spokeswoman confirmed both lanes, northbound and southbound, were closed between the junctions for Pettistree/Wickham Market and Framlingham at about 5.30pm.

There were two casualties, one of whom was rescued from the vehicle by fire crews following removal of the roof.

Both casualties were left in the care of the Ambulance Service.

The AA traffic map showed traffic was moving slowly on the A12 between Lower Hacheston and Melton, when there was 'severe' delays of around 16 minutes.
