Best-selling author Charlie Mackesy to visit Woodbridge Library in New Street for book signing
Library staff are ‘over the moon’ to welcome author and illustrator Charlie Mackesy who will be signing copies of his best-selling book, ‘The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse.’
The much-loved author will be at Woodbridge Library for fund-raising event on Friday, August 23 in support of Suffolk Libraries.
‘The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse’ was published in 2019 and follows the developing friendship between its four main characters.
The children’s book was adapted into an animated short film in 2022 on Apple TV+, which aired on the BBC during Christmas of that year.
It has received multiple accolades, including the 2019 Waterstones Book of the Year, the 2019 Barnes & Noble Book of the Year, and it was shortlisted for the 2020 British Book Awards Non-Fiction Lifestyle Book of the Year.
Alex Downing, Suffolk Libraries fund-raising and partnership manager, said: “We are over the moon to be able to welcome the dearly loved author, Charlie Mackesy to Woodbridge Library to sign copies of his best-selling book.
“He is very kindly giving his time to support our fundraising efforts, to help us reduce social, digital and rural isolation in Suffolk.
“Charlie’s book has brought comfort to so many people and really epitomizes what we are all about as an independent charity.”

Mr Mackesy lives between Brixton and Suffolk with his dog Barney.
