East Suffolk bin collections face disruption after vandalism at Ufford, near Woodbridge, depot

Bin collections in East Suffolk face disruption after vandalism at a depot.

East Suffolk Council has warned that collections in the south of the district may be impacted after damage to vehicles at its depot in Ufford.

These will need to be repaired before they return to active duty, a spokeswoman for the authority said.

She said: “This will impact collections in the south of the district, therefore waste and recycling rounds will be prioritised ahead of garden waste for the time being.”

According to the spokeswoman, there is no news on exactly which parts of East Suffolk will be affected.

It will depend on how teams get on with collections each day.

She said: “Any residents expecting a garden waste collection this week should still present their bins as normal and our teams will get to them as quickly as they can.

“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”

East Suffolk Council will provide regular updates on the situation throughout the week.
