Convicted murderer Daniel Barker who absconded from Hollesley Bay prison in Woodbridge hands himself in to police in Ipswich




A convicted murderer serving a life sentence has handed himself in to police after absconding from prison.

Daniel Barker, 34, was reported missing from Hollesley Bay in Woodbridge yesterday morning after he was absent at a roll call.

Barker, who was convicted of murder in 2005 while he was a teenager, is serving a life sentence.

He handed himself in to police in Ipswich last night and was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre where he currently remains.

Officers have thanked members of the public and media for their assistance with this appeal.
