Couple and their pet dog rescued from stranded boat at Tide Mill Quay, in Woodbridge




A couple and their four-legged friend were rescued after their boat became stranded on the banks of the River Deben.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was called at 3.57pm today to assist HM Coastguard in rescuing the stranded boat and its passengers at Tide Mill Quay, in Woodbridge.

The boat was listing after becoming stuck in shallow water and mud.

Ladders were set upon the bank to help the occupants leave the vessel.

A water rescue team from Princes Street attended the coastguard-led operation.

There were no casualties.
