Drivers urged to avoid A12 at Martlesham at the roundabout with Anson Road and Eagle Way as fire crews work to remove man trapped in overturned lorry cab

A lorry has overturned on the A12 at Martlesham, causing disruption for commuters.

Police were called to the incident on the Tesco Roundabout at 7am where they reduced the A12 Northbound down to one lane.

A Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said fire crews were on the scene working to remove one man who is trapped inside the cab of the lorry.

The lorry's load was reported to be 20 tonnes of stones.

Police were urging drivers to avoid the area as traffic builds.

A police spokesperson said full closure of the roundabout is likely to be required once recovery takes place.
