Otley Road in Cretingham reopens and person taken to Ipswich Hospital after Hyundai Tucson crashes into tree

A person has been taken to hospital after firefighters released them from a car that had crashed into an embankment and a tree in a Suffolk village this morning.

Emergency services were called to Otley Road in Cretingham after the single-vehicle collision involving a Hyundai Tucson at about 7.35am, with the road closed while crews assisted the person and the vehicle was recovered.

An ambulance service spokeswoman said one person was taken to Ipswich Hospital for further care.

Any injuries sustained were not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening, a police spokeswoman added.

She said the road had been closed but as of 10.55am, the car had been recovered and the road would be reopening shortly.
