Man dies after falling down 10ft hole moments before building collapse in Haughgate Close, Woodbridge
A man who was crushed when part of a building collapsed on top of him in Woodbridge has died.
Emergency services were called to Haughgate Close at 4.30pm today to reports of a man having fallen into a 10ft hole.
A rescue mission was launched, with police, paramedics and fire crews fighting to save the man, who was aged in his 30s.
An air ambulance also attended but the man died at the scene.
The incident took place at a home which was undergoing renovations.
It is believed the man fell into the hole before a part of the building fell on him.
A police cordon is still in place, with officers investigating the circumstances surrounding the man's death.
A police spokesman said the man's next of kin have been informed.
