Saxmundham Railway Station incident sees person arrested for lying on the tracks




A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after they were caught lying on the tracks near to a Suffolk railway station.

Officers from Halesworth Police were alerted to the incident at Saxmundham Railway Station by a member of the public at around 3.37pm on Saturday.

In a post on social media, after arriving at the scene, they discovered person in question was drunk and had also been lying close to the edge of the platform.

The person was arrested for trespassing on a railway line, and they were taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre.

Nobody was injured during the incident.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of trespass and later issued with a community resolution."
