Plans for new Bredfield Village Hall multi-use games area green lit by East Suffolk Council

Plans for a new multi-use games area (MUGA) at a village hall have been given the go ahead.

East Suffolk Council green lit the proposals for the playing field at Bredfield Village Hall, in The Street, on July 4.

It will see the existing tennis court converted, with the addition of two standalone goal ends and basketball boards and hoops.

The space is to the back of the village hall.

Bredfield Parish Council gave no objection to the plans but expressed concerns that the fence height of 2.4m could be too low.

A public objection to the proposal was submitted, which cited concerns over the noise of basketballs and the potential for stray objects to fall into residential gardens.

Planners dismissed these concerns, saying the design was acceptable and that it would not have ‘an adverse impact on neighbouring amenity’.
