13 wild birds, including four gulls, found dead in Butley woodland, near Woodbridge




Thirteen wild birds found dead in an East Suffolk woodland are believed to have been shot illegally.

The birds, which included four gulls, were discovered in Butley, near Woodbridge.

X-rays showed that one of the gulls contained shot in the head and neck consistent with being targeted with a shotgun.

The birds, which are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, were not birds of prey.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Suffolk Police on 101, quoting crime reference 37/17999/24.
