Suffolk Police hunt for absconder missing from Hollesley Bay prison, near Woodbridge

Police are looking for a prisoner who was last seen this morning.

Morgan Smyth, 24, was reported missing from Hollesley Bay prison, near Woodbridge, at 12.45pm today after last being seen at 10am.

He is of slim build, 6ft 3ins tall (1m 93cm) , with black hair and brown eyes and has a goatee beard and possibly wearing a light blue coat.

He is serving a three year sentence for possession of a knife, blade or sharp pointed article; possession of an offensive weapon in a public place; threatening a person with a blade/sharply pointed article in a public place, and harassment.

Anyone who has seen him or knows of his whereabouts should not approach him but should contact Suffolk police, quoting CAD number 198 of 11 May 2023.
