Police seek witness to alleged incident at Rendlesham Forest after man is arrested on suspicion of assaulting woman




A man has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a woman after an alleged incident at Rendlesham Forest last week.

Police are now appealing for a witness to come forward who may have seen the alleged assault on Wednesday during the early evening.

Officers said a man assaulted a woman on a country lane, leading to Capel St Andrew, near to the main visitor entrance at Rendlesham Forest.

The parties involved are believed to be known to one another.

Police are keen to speak to one potential witness, a white man in his late 30s with fair coloured hair, who was wearing glasses and driving a white pick-up truck at the time.

A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries to answer at Martlesham Police Investigation Centre on June 26.

Anyone who saw the incident should contact Ipswich police on 101 quoting crime number 37/27841/21.
