A popular gastropub in Suffolk is ‘incredibly proud’ after being recognised as one of the best restaurants in the UK.

The Unruly Pig in Bromeswell, near Woodbridge, was selected as one of the best restaurants at the National Restaurants Awards.

The eatery jumped up 21 places from last year and was ranked as the 56th best restaurant in the country.

A spokesperson for The Unruly Pig on social media said: “All our team are incredibly proud to have been recognised in the Top 100 restaurants in the UK, for the second year running.

“Thank you so much to all of our customers for your support over the past year and also many thanks to the National Restaurant Awards for such an amazing recognition of our team's efforts.

“To be considered one of the best restaurants in the country, as well as the number one gastropub in the UK, is something we really never expected and is truly humbling.”
