Hollesley Bay prisoner Lawrence Rooney who escaped from jail re-arrested in Wiltshire

A man who escaped from a Suffolk prison last week has been caught by police.

On Sunday, October 4, it was discovered that Lawrence Rooney, 37, was missing from Hollesley Bay prison.

He was arrested on Friday during a vehicle stop by police in Wiltshire.

He appeared at Swindon Magistrates' Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody to appear before Swindon Crown Court on November 13.
