Duck Corner in Hollesley resurfaced after large oil spill following tractor and lorry crash




A road in Suffolk has been resurfaced following a large oil spill after a crash between a lorry and a tractor.

A person was taken to the hospital following the incident at Duck Corner, Hollesley, on Thursday, September 19, which caused the oil spill.

Suffolk Highways shared that around 287 square metres of the road has now been resurfaced.

The grass verges next to the road have also been scraped back with the contaminated soil being replaced with new topsoil.

SuffolkNews previously reported on residents’ frustration over how long it took for the issue to be resolved.

Last week, James Malinder, Deben ward councillor, said: “This should have been sorted within 24 hours.

“There has been a lack of information given to the residents and community; it’s been very badly handled.”

Temporary ‘no road markings’ signs will be in place until the new road markings are completed.
