A12 Martlesham to reopen at 3pm following recovery of overturned lorry




A lorry which overturned at around 7am this morning is being recovered from the A12 northbound in Martlesham, at the roundabout junctions with Anson Road & Eagle Way.

Suffolk Highways are on the scene to remove the lorry from the carriageway and said they expect the road to fully reopen by 3pm.

The lorry, reported to be carrying 20 tonnes of stones, overturned at the Tesco roundabout and traffic began to build in the area.

A Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said fire crews were on the scene working to remove a man who was trapped inside the cab of the lorry.

The road was partially closed for seven hours. It is now expected to open at 3pm.
