Several fire, ambulance and police crews called to Woodbridge after man falls down 10ft hole
Emergency services have been called to Woodbridge this afternoon following reports a man had fallen down a 10ft hole.
Police, ambulance and fire crews were sent to Haughgate Close at about 4.30pm to reports of the incident.
A spokesman for the fire service said after the man fell, it is believed an amount of concrete had fallen on top of him.
The man, aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The spokesman added it was believed the incident was caused by collapsed roofing.
Meanwhile, a spokeswoman for the ambulance service said: "I can confirm that EEAST responded to an emergency call shortly before 4.30pm regarding an incident in Woodbridge.
"We have sent multiple ambulances to the scene and are working closely with other emergency services."
