'The Body Coach' Joe Wicks stays at 'incredible' Suffolk barn at Wilderness Reserve near Saxmundham to film new workouts for Wake Up With Joe

A popular fitness personality has revealed he is staying at an 'incredible' converted 15th century barn in Suffolk this week to film some new workouts.

Joe Wicks – also known as The Body Coach – who was synonymous with staying active during the first coronavirus lockdown thanks to his free 'PE with Joe' live online classes, has shared the news on social media that he is staying at Wilderness Reserve in Sibton, near Saxmundham, for a couple of nights.

Yesterday evening, Wicks, 35 – who has recently been awarded an MBE for his efforts during the pandemic – took to his Instagram account to tell his 3.8 million followers he and his family were in the county. He revealed they had also taken the opportunity to visit the nearby seaside town of Southwold while they were there.

The fitness star later announced to his followers he was 'back' for the second lockdown with new 'Wake Up With Joe' workouts.

He said: "I promised if we went back into a lockdown I would be here to help you get through it and I’m now committing to filming and sharing three new workouts a week until lockdown is over how ever long that takes.

"They will go live Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6am on my YouTube channel starting on Mon 9th.

"This will not be LIVE workouts but pre-recorded short 15-minute energy and mood boosting workouts to help you stay fit and find some positivity, energy and help with your mental health.

"You can then choose to do the workouts at a time which suits you. I need this just as much as you.

"Our mental health is suffering but we can get through this lockdown together and come out stronger both physically and mentally."

Wicks was recognised for his efforts in helping to keep people active during the coronavirus lockdown, and for simultaneously raising £580,000 for NHS Charities Together, with an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours last month.

According to its social media, Wilderness Reserve is a "unique luxury collection of manors, farmhouses and country cottages in Suffolk to rent" set within a 4,500 acre private country estate.
