Tributes paid to 'one in a million' dad Dale Baker who died after building collapse in Woodbridge
Tributes have been paid to an 'amazing' father who died after a building partially collapsed in Woodbridge.
Dale Baker, from Felixstowe, had been carrying out renovation work on a house in Haughgate Close when he fell into a 10ft hole moments before the building collapsed.
Police, paramedics and fire crews launched a rescue mission to save him but the 30 year old died at the scene.
Friends and family have taken to social media to pay tribute to Mr Baker, who was described as 'one in a million'.
Dale's close friend Gavin Lankester said: "I don't even know what to write, my head is all over the place.
"Dale Baker was a very close mate we worked together for ages. You would always help anybody out in any way you could.
"You never realise how much people mean to you until it's too late."
Laura Baker wrote: "I don’t know when it will all hit me, I don’t know if it ever will.
"But I will have you know we will look after that gorgeous little girl of yours, and we will know how much you cared and the amount of love you had for her."
A joint inquiry into the incident has been launched by Suffolk Police's major investigation team and the Health and Safety Executive.
Witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting reference 72620/20.
