Red Arrows set to fly over Suffolk as part of a historic flypast for VE Day 80 commemorations
Residents in a Suffolk are set for a glimpse of the Red Arrows as they head to London as part of a historic flypast for the VE day commemorations.
The VE Day 80 flypast will see the elite flying squad and host of World War Two planes fly past Buckingham Palace in a several hundred-mile arc, starting from RAF Waddington, Lancashire, tomorrow.
The planes will then travel out to sea and then inland towards London across south Suffolk and North Essex.
A Voyager transport aircraft, Typhoon and F-35 fighter jets, as well as a P8 Poseidon surveillance aircraft are taking part in the display.
The flypast will be comprised of six waves, with a Lancaster from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight leading the group.
Wave two will see a Voyager and A400M Atlas, with a C-17 Globemaster in the third. The fourth wave includes a P8 Poseidon MRA1 and two Typhoon FGR4 before the fifth, which features a Rivet Joint and two F-35B Lightnings.
The ninth wave features The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team The Red Arrows.
The flypast will be performed over Buckingham Palace and The Mall in the afternoon.
