Everything you need to know about the Our Bury St Edmunds food and drink festival
The foodie capital of Suffolk is gearing up to host an annual two-day food and drink festival featuring a Michelin-starred celebrity chef.
Running today and tomorrow, the Our Bury St Edmunds Food and Drink Festival is promising everything from Caribbean food to refreshing cocktails, alongside fun activities and fairground rides.
The free festival takes place today and tomorrow, 10am-5pm.
Food lovers will be able to find stalls across Bury town centre, including a farmers’ market on Angel Hill.
The Stoves Cookery Theatre will be set up on Cornhill, while there will be free activities for families at arc shopping centre.
One of the event highlights is the return of Michelin-starred celebrity chef Galton Blackiston, who will be taking to the stage at the cookery theatre tomorrow.
Blackiston has held a Michelin star for 18 years and appeared on television programmes including the Great British Menu and Saturday Kitchen.
Our Bury St Edmunds BID chief executive Mark Cordell said: “We are so proud of the food and drink businesses in Bury and like to give as many as possible the opportunity to engage with this event to showcase what they do.
“A number who were involved for the first time last year are joining in again. Others like Papakis Deli and Beautiful Beers, who have had a long-standing presence, are back, too.
“The farmers’ market is always a great draw and arc shopping centre will be the place to be for a number of other free festival attractions for all ages, including face painting, virtual reality games and test-driving a racing car simulator.”
