A140 from junction 51 of the A14, near Coddenham, and the A143 junction, near Scole, will be closed twice to transport pair of transformers
A major Suffolk road will be closed twice this month to transport a pair of abnormal loads.
The 80m-long transformers will leave Cliff Quay, in Ipswich, to travel to Eye Synchronous Condenser Plant, in Yaxley, on Sunday, August 11 and Sunday, August 18.
The convoy will depart from Ipswich at around 6am on both days and follow a route on local roads to the A14 before joining the A140, near Coddenham.
As part of the transportation, the A140 will be closed from junction 51 of the A14 to the A143 junction, near Scole, at the Suffolk-Norfolk border.
The closure will allow for the construction of a temporary overbridge in Brockford Street.
Rolling road blocks will also be in place on the A14 between junction 53 and junction 51 as well as temporary parking restrictions in Ipswich.
The transformers weighing more than 580 and 370 tonnes each will be escorted by Suffolk Police.
