Man dies in collision on the B1077 near Witnesham





A man in his 40s has died following a crash on the B1077 near Witnesham.

Police were called to the scene at 1.45pm today to reports of a single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle.

The East of England ambulance service and air ambulance were also called but the man died at the scene.

The road between Ashbocking and High Road on the B1077, near Ipswich, is closed and is expected to remain shut for some time.

Officers would like to hear from any witnesses who saw the collision, particularly the driver of a black Mercedes travelling on the B1077 away from Witnesham towards Ashbocking just after 1pm.

They are also asking for motorists driving in the area at the time of the incident to review dashcam footage.
