Suffolk Police appeal for witnesses after lorry overturns on A14 near Claydon causing nine-hour closure





Police are appealing for witnesses of a crash which caused the A14 near Claydon to be closed for nine hours.

No one was seriously injured in the single vehicle crash in which a lorry overturned on June 9 at 5.10am

Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the crash or the manner of driving before the incident or anyone who has dashcam footage of the collision.

The HGV, which was travelling on the A14 westbound from Felixstowe, was a Leyland DAF lorry with registration number AV22YDF.

The road was fully closed westbound, and at various stages eastbound, following the collision and during the recovery of the lorry. The road did not fully reopen until 2.28pm.

A 50-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving with excess drugs and possession of a Class B drug and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre, near Ipswich.

He was subsequently released under investigation.
