Ipswich Town agree deal with Burnley for former Manchester City goalkeeper Arijanet Muric
Ipswich Town have agreed a deal with Burnley for goalkeeper Arijanet Muric, according to The Athletic.
The deal is reported to be worth ‘an initial £8m’ – which could rise to more than £10m with add-ons – and The Athletic have stated that a medical for the Kosovo international is in the process of being arranged.
The 25-year-old played 41 times and and kept 17 clean sheets during the Clarets’ promotion-winning campaign from the Sky Bet Championship in 2022/23 before his number-one spot at Turf Moor was taken by James Trafford.
However, Muric, who is a Manchester City academy graduate, did play 10 matches in the Premier League last term, conceding 16 times.
Town are in the search for a shot-stopper following the departure of Vaclav Hladky – who was unable to agree a new deal at Portman Road following the expiration of his contract.
The 33-year-old started all 46 games in the Blues’ historic promotion-winning season last term, replacing Christian Walton as Kieran McKenna’s first-choice goalkeeper.
