Ipswich Town: Blues in race for Bournemouth and Wales defender Chris Mepham

Ipswich Town are reportedly in the race for Bournemouth defender Chris Mepham.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 26-year-old is allowed to leave this summer on either a permanent or loan deal.

Italian team Torino and Belgian side Anderlecht are also interested in securing the centre-back’s services.

Mepham has played 61 times in the Premier League and featured 10 times in the top flight last season including four substitute appearances.

The 6ft 4in Welshman, who has 46 caps for his country, began his youth career at Chelsea before moving to Brentford, where he made 43 appearances in two Championship seasons between 2017 and 2019.

He then earned a move to Bournemouth in January 2019.
