A47 at Lowestoft to shut overnight for 12 weeks for major works
A key route in Lowestoft will shut overnight for 12 weeks later this month as major works take place.
National Highways has said it will begin resurfacing and renewal work on the A47 between Rackhams Corner, Corton, and Sparrows Nest from September 16.
During this time, the road will be shut between 8pm and 6am on weekdays, although work will depend on the weather.
Ahead of work, teams will have to trim back vegetation and overhanging trees between September 16 and October 11, which should take place during the day.
Two-way traffic lights will be in place while this takes place.
From September 16 and for the following four weeks, the A47 will be shut between the Station Road at Hopton roundabout and Gunton Roundabout, outside Tesco.
From October 11 and for the next three weeks, the A47 will be shut between Blundeston roundabout and Gunton roundabout
Finally, from October 24 and for the following five weeks, the route will be shut from Gunton Roundabout to Sparrows Nest.
Diversions will be in place while the work takes place.
