Rail and road disruption and power outages in East Suffolk likely as Met Office issues yellow weather warning, with Southwold, Leiston, Lowestoft, Beccles and Diss affected





Rail and road disruption as well as power outages are forecast for areas of East Suffolk tomorrow (December 9) after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning.

Coastal towns including Leiston, Southwold and Lowestoft are at risk from strong winds, as well as Beccles and Diss further inland.

The disruptive weather will start from 9am tomorrow and is predicted to last until 11.45pm.

The warning states that delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely, with bus and train routes particularly affected.

Seaside areas can also expect to be on the receiving end of spray and large waves.

Drivers of high-sided vehicles are also being warned of the associated risks on exposed routes and bridges.

The weather is also set to affect the majority of Norfolk, and the warning extends throughout mainland UK, across Wales and the Midlands, as well as towards the South West.
