Food Museum in Stowmarket hosts Flavour Week activities this half term
A Suffolk museum is celebrating the food of East Anglia with activities, tasters and experiences this half term.
The Food Museum in Stowmarket will be hosting Flavour Week from February 17 to February 25 offering visitors the chance to try some of the punchiest ingredients from the region.
From strong cheeses and toasty malts to mustardy greens and deep roots, the week will explore the importance of flavour and how understanding ingredients can help in the kitchen.
The Micro-Flavour Lab will open for the whole week with experiments looking into how sight, smell and sound can affect the eating experience.
Visitors can also put their palates to the test with the museum’s Taste Test Challenge on February 17 and 18.
Bee Farrell, food anthropologist and educator, will be hosting an interactive talk about the flavour heritage of East Anglia on February 24 before topping off the week with the Flavour Wheel on February 25 which brings together some of the best artisan produce from across Suffolk.
