Businesses to be recognised as Babergh and Mid Suffolk Innovation Awards return for 2024
A celebration of innovation in businesses across Suffolk is returning once again this year, with nominations now open.
Babergh and Mid Suffolk district councils announced this week that they are bringing back their bi-annual Innovation Awards for the third time in November.
Nine awards are up for grabs this time around, seeking to recognise businesses in all sectors that utilise unique and creative approaches to deliver their products or services.
The categories include innovation in areas such as the high street, food and drink, construction, customer service, sustainability and growth.
There are also accolades for the districts’ innovation Rising Star and Shooting Star, which can honour an outstanding team or individual, as well as the overall title of Business Innovator of the Year.
Derek Davis, Babergh District Council’s cabinet member for sustainable economy, said: “I’m really excited about the Innovation Awards returning later on this year.
“I’m looking forward to congratulating all the nominees for the services they provide in our communities.
“These awards exist to celebrate all businesses, regardless of their size or sector, and to shine a light on all the brilliant work that is being done in Babergh day in, day out.”
Teresa Davis added: “Whilst many businesses will be focussed on their day-to-day work, we really want to shout about what they do, so please put them forward, or encourage them to do so.”
Nominations can be made free of charge, and businesses are invited to put forward themselves, or other organisations that they believe deserve to be recognised for their innovative practices.
The deadline for submissions is Saturday, August 31.
After this date, the final shortlists in each category will be announced, ahead of an awards ceremony at All Manor of Events on November 7.
