Niket Jadhav jailed after three cannabis grows found in Thetford including more than 360 plants
A man has been jailed for four years and three months after more than 360 plants from three cannabis grows were found in a town.
About 92 plants were found growing in one room of a two-storey flat in York Way, Thetford, on January 24, with evidence of growing that had been harvested in other rooms.
Police discovered a similar set-up in the neighbouring flat where 209 plants were found and further inquiries led them to another property in Spindle Drive where cannabis was found growing in every room including 67 mature plants.
Officers were also led to a property in Mingay Road where large amounts of zip lock cannabis dealer bags and about £10,000 in cash was found.
Paperwork linked Niket Jadhav, 41, of Mingay Road, Thetford, to all three addresses.
Jadhav was arrested and charged with three counts of being concerned in the production of cannabis, one of possessing criminal property and one of abstracting electricity.
He appeared at Ipswich Crown Court today where he was sentenced to four years and three months in jail. He had pleaded guilty to all charges at an earlier hearing.
The set up was described as organised and sophisticated with Jadhav in ultimate control.
PC Charlie Large said: “Jadhav initially denied his involvement blaming it on tenants but we were able to gather a catalogue of evidence against him which led to his guilty plea.
“Three properties were being used to cultivate cannabis, blighting lives and neighbourhoods.
“We hope this sends a clear message that such activities will not be tolerated and would urge anyone who thinks this type of activity could be going on in their street to please contact Norfolk Police.”
Two other people arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis have been released under investigation.
