Picture gallery: Open cinema event kicks off Thetford Stage and Screen Festival

A Stage and Screen Festival in Thetford saw movie fans who were not deterred by the wet weather taking in a selection of films at a two-day free outdoor family cinema at the weekend.

Held at the Thetford Riverside complex and supported by Breckland Council and Thetford Town Council, people got to watch family favourites such as Moana, Spielberg’s ‘Jurassic Park’ and the iconic ‘Back To The Future’.

The festival will continue on August 22 and 23, within the medieval ruins of the town’s priory, as it hosts two outside theatre productions – Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility, followed by Shakespeare's A Midsummers Night's Dream.
